YIN-Yoga Life has enough Yang, come do Yin-Yoga with me. Yin-Yoga is a slow-moving restorative style of yoga. There are a variety of ways to experience yin yoga. Some of the classes that I lead will focus on the use of Blocks, Bolster and Blankets for support to create a sustained pose, allowing deepening and lengthening. Other classes I slow it down by letting the breath and body guide the class. Learning proper alignment and the releasing of facia are incorporated into classes to help aid in the restored experience. Restorative Yin classes are great for those who are in some kind of recovery (Physical, Mental or Emotional), for people who just need to slow down, or to foster self-care. When you relax in a passive stretch it will change what you can do in other forms of yoga. Because you get deeper fascia release and the body remembers how to let go differently, so then when you are in a regular yoga class or in other life activities you find your body can go way deeper because of the work you’ve done in yin yoga. The Passive stretch of a yin yoga release is super powerful, so even if you prefer a more kick-butt type of yoga or exercise, I recommend yin yoga once a week or at least every other week to be able to deepen and enhance your other forms of practice. |
